You know the saying ‘Good things come in small packages?’. Well, it could not be more true than when it comes to ‘The Hut’. Modestly named, in honour of the building's previous life hosting the local scouts for the weekly meetings.
The former scout hut has recently been transformed into a cosy haven, nestled among the historical buildings, and cobbled streets of Kirkby Lonsdale.
Every detail of this home has been meticulously planned to cater for your needs, promising a lavish retreat you will remember for a lifetime.
Approaching the striking building, you’ll find yourself weaving through a cobbled archway, reminiscent of the droves and pack horses that once called this bustling market-town home.
Upon entering, let peace and tranquillity welcome you with open arms. One sumptuous king-sized bedroom and a second cosy double room nestled into the stone hallway of the ground floor. With lush greenery peering in through from the windows outside, the low ceilings and exposed wooden beams ooze romantic, rustic charm. Complete with luxurious White Company bedding, robes for each guest and underfloor heating, the perfect space to rewind with a good book after a day exploring.
Whether you’ve spent your day hiking Ingleborough, discovering the gorgeous boutique shops or following Ruskin’s footsteps along the River Lune, the free-standing bath is a warm welcome back to The Hut. Sink down amongst the bubbles and reflect on your recent adventures, indulging in the tantalising aromas from locally sourced, sustainable Bath House products. The immaculate family bathroom also provides a walk-in shower, clad in stunning green parquet tiles, and a heated towel rail.
Upstairs, the living space is engulfed in natural light. The brick fireplace and original wooden features pay homage to the 1850’s structure. Cosy up beside the log burner, the perfect addition to this peaceful home, and indulge in a glass of wine as the evening drifts in, casting a sunset glow throughout the room.
The well-equipped kitchen is the beating heart of this retreat. Gather around the AGA and cook up a storm, making the most of the incredible local produce available on the doorstep. The stonework countertops create the ideal space for preparing a variety of dishes with ample room to share meals around the beautiful, bespoke wooden dining table.
The open-plan aspect of the upstairs living area enables guests to enjoy this space to the fullest. Whether that be getting together for breakfast, enjoying a movie night, or sharing a romantic, candlelit dinner.
This home has been built with you in mind, whilst maintaining the historical integrity of the old building. This is evident in the tiny details spread throughout, from the Belfast sink and copper finishes to the smooth subtle woodwork that resonates throughout the building, seamlessly tying new and old. The lighting is subtle, and warm, ensuring optimum relaxation. Treat yourself to a break from the hustle and bustle and embrace this little slice of heaven.
