Just a gentle stroll from the cafés, boutiques and riverside walks that make this corner of Cumbria so loved, this beautifully designed cottage invites you to slow down, unwind and savour the simple pleasures of a luxury escape.
From lazy mornings with coffee in the garden to evenings soaking beneath the stars in the private hot tub or gathering beside the glow of a real fire after a day on the fells, Salt Pie Cottage is your own peaceful sanctuary on the edge of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.
In the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale
Perfectly positioned yet wonderfully tucked away, Salt Pie Cottage sits moments from the vibrant centre of Kirkby Lonsdale, a town known for its independent spirit, historic charm and thriving food scene.
Arrive and step through the door into a welcoming space designed for comfort and ease. Light spills through generous windows, while thoughtful interiors combine soft tones, natural textures and contemporary finishes to create an atmosphere that feels both stylish and deeply relaxing.
This is a home designed to welcome you in — a place where muddy boots can be kicked off after riverside walks and evenings drift easily from relaxed dinners to fireside conversation.
Serene living spaces
The cottage unfolds across three beautifully considered living areas, each with its own distinct character yet seamlessly connected for easy, sociable living.
The contemporary kitchen is thoughtfully designed and fully equipped, flowing through into a characterful dining room where a striking exposed brick wall adds warmth, texture and a sense of heritage to the space. A real fire brings a gentle glow to the room, creating an inviting setting for long, relaxed meals and unhurried conversation.
The lounge offers a calm and inviting retreat. Here, a second real fire creates a welcoming focal point — perfect for settling in after a day exploring the surrounding fells — while bi-fold doors open onto the garden, where al fresco dining awaits in the outdoor dining area.
A convenient downstairs WC adds to the ease of living, particularly for longer stays or when hosting family and friends.
Together, these spaces offer flexibility and comfort — allowing guests to come together or retreat into their own corners with ease.
Designed for relaxing
Upstairs, three beautifully styled bedrooms offer calm and comfort after a day of adventure.
Two elegant king-size bedrooms provide restful, beautifully finished spaces, while a third bedroom, thoughtfully designed with a single bed, offers a cosy and flexible option for children or additional family members.
The cottage also features two well-appointed bathrooms, both located upstairs and designed with the same attention to detail and comfort found throughout the home.
Soft linens, calming colours and refined furnishings run throughout, creating restful spaces where mornings begin gently and evenings end in quiet comfort.
With space for up to five guests, Salt Pie Cottage is perfectly suited to families, couples travelling together, or friends seeking a stylish base for exploring the Lakes.
Outdoor living
Step outside and the pace of life slows even further.
The private garden and patio offer a beautifully spacious and considered outdoor space for relaxing and gathering. A comfortable lounging area with a brand-new outdoor sofa invites slow afternoons in the fresh air, while the alfresco dining area — complete with a table and seating for six — is perfect for long, sociable meals.
Whether enjoying breakfast in the morning sun, an afternoon drink, or dinner as the evening draws in, the space is designed to be lived in and enjoyed.
And when the day comes to a close, slip into the private hot tub, where warm bubbles and open skies provide the perfect end to a day of exploring.
Private parking for up to three cars adds ease and convenience — a rare luxury so close to the heart of town.
Out and about
From the cottage door, Kirkby Lonsdale unfolds at an easy pace.
Stroll through the town’s cobbled streets, browse independent shops, linger over coffee in welcoming cafés or enjoy dinner in one of the many excellent restaurants and traditional pubs.
A short walk leads to the banks of the River Lune and the famous viewpoint at Ruskin’s View — one of the most celebrated vistas in England.
Beyond the town, adventure awaits in every direction. The dramatic landscapes of the Lake District National Park lie within easy reach, while the rolling hills and quiet valleys of the Yorkshire Dales are just as close.
Whether you’re chasing mountain views, riverside walks or simply a peaceful escape, Salt Pie Cottage places you perfectly between them all.
