The Potters Cottage, The Old School House Connemara
Tucked quietly beside the original Old School House, The Potters Cottage offers a slower, more intimate way to experience Connemara.
Originally built in 1838, the Old School House has been thoughtfully restored, with The Potters Cottage now reimagined as a warm and character-filled retreat for two. Designed for couples or solo travellers seeking a slower, more relaxed stay in Connemara. While its history remains deeply rooted in the past, the space has been carefully designed for comfort, calm, and ease.
Inside, you’ll find a cosy, light-filled interior with a sense of quiet charm — a place to unwind after a day exploring the wild Atlantic coastline, nearby beaches, and the vibrant town of Clifden, just a short stroll away. In the garden, with views of the Twelve Bens, you can sit back, listen to the birds, and simply watch the world slow down.
Evenings are best spent beside the fire, with a glass of wine, as the pace of Connemara gently takes over.
Whether you’re here for long coastal walks, good food, or simply to switch off, The Potters Cottage offers a stay that feels both grounding and quietly special.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Potters Cottage.
