WHY TCH - Third Coast Hideaway?
It solves so many common big group/family vacation fun busters. As much as we all love going on vacation and love the ones we're with - big group vacations can turn south real quick. After taking many myself, the key is to provide everyone their own space, to explore the area as they want, yet come all together for things like a meal or a group sailing excursion. Below are just some of the reasons why we knew it was the one & why you'll be the rock star of the group for booking TCH!
A FIGHT SQUASHER! Big families/groups of all ages can do what they individually want, whether it’s by foot, bike, Interurban, or kayak. No need for a car. It’s normal and very healthy to venture out separately (individually or by family) and then all come back together for dinner. Plus, there's a lot more to talk about! #TCHPriceless

Who TCH is for: This house is ideal for a group of nice people, who understand that this is OUR OWN dream vacation home and will take care of it like it is your own and the high-quality place that it is. We will do everything to make the place as enjoyable as possible and ask that you take care of it in return. You will be required to sign our short-term lease agreement and house rules to confirm your stay. We have neighbors that we care about and live next to long after you've gone home. So, we want only renters that actually think it's a bonus that the house has a no-loud-noise curfew from 9 pm to 9 am. For our happiness and yours, we need to make that very clear that we cannot tolerate loud groups.
All Nice People Welcome: We do not discriminate based on race, sexual orientation, gender, religion, disability, national origin or any other reason people have found to discriminate. All are welcome in our home!! We believe in equality for everyone. Our home is a place where all should feel safe and be able to enjoy the beauty of Michigan.

Third Coast Hideaway - Saugatuck-Douglas Downtown

My husband and I found this place as a spot to arrange our annual family reunion with our four kids and two grandchildren. This place was a gem. The host meticulously made sure every need was addressed and it shows. This is a very clean and well maintained home that shines. The beds were very comfortable. There is plenty of space to spread out and the location is fantastic. You can walk everywhere. The back porch is a great place to hang out and talk. There is an extra tank of propane for if it runs out when you are cooking. There are toys and a wagon for young children. They loved the little teepee tent downstairs. The beach supplies and beach towels were an added plus. As was the cooler for a picnic. Everything needed to cook and clean was there too. All you needed to think about was showing up. There is even a list of restaurants and things to do included. Amazing. Would love to return. Hopefully there will be an opening for us next year because I know everyone was pleased.

Family Reunion

My sister and I found this Gem as we were searching for a vacation home we could get our families together to celebrate our mom. We flew into Grand Rapids from NC and found the drive to Saugatuck quick and easy. My sister and her family live in Michigan so they just had a 2 hour drive. This location allowed us to spend the most time visiting and vacationing vs. spending long hours flying/driving. The house is absolutely beautiful and thoroughly stocked with everything you would possibly need except your clothes! Every bed is pure comfort and as luxurious as a bougie hotel which was an added bonus since we could all stay together. The town(s) of Douglas/Saugatuck and the surrounding shore line are all lovely to spend time in. You can easily walk or bike to fabulous restaurants and drive to many more. Endless things to do in all of the nearby lake shore towns so although we could not fit everything in we look forward to returning. I have personally never stayed in a vacation home as organized as Madison's TCH and the kitchen is very well stocked. There is a grocery store and bowling alley right around the corner that even our older parents could walk to with us and there are more gourmet food stores close by as well. If you are a "foodie" this area will not disappoint. Madison was a wonderful host and made everything from logistics, check in, operations within the home seamlessly easy to navigate. We loved the screened porch every morning for coffee and in the evenings playing cards and visiting. The weather was a wonderful break from the summer heat in NC. We will definitely try and come back as much as possible!!

80th Birthday Celebration!

Stayed at this house in order to be close to the wedding venue, "Ivy House" in Saugatuck. Location was absolutely perfect. Also very nice Grocery store within walking distance. The house itself was amazing. Very well stocked and had everything we could possibly need. Loved the kitchen for cooking for family while there, really it had absolutely everything! Very clean! Very organized! Owners were great, very attentive to our needs! Would definitely rent this house again! Plenty of room for a large family and beautiful area for outdoor dining!

The Third Coast Hideaway

Stayed here with our 3 children and their spouses along with 3 little grand kids. Worked out perfect. Great accommodations for everyone. The children safety gates were very helpful to prevent mishaps. Madison truely wants to make sure everything is perfect for your stay. She is very easy to work with and replies back quickly to questions. The house is very well stocked with all the needed cooking supplies. Grocery store is right around the corner so that was convenient. Weather wasn't great but the screened in porch made up for it. Spent most of the time hanging out there. We would like to return someday!

Great Family Vacation

There are trips and there are amazing trips and TCH made our girl week the best. We loved loved loved the location - we usually stay in downtown Saugatuck, and once we saw this one we decided to give it a try. Boy are we glad we did! The attention to detail and the heart Madison puts into it and cares about your enjoyment of it - is truly touching. We already told Madison to save us our week next summer!
