Canalman’s Cottage | Historic Lockside Retreat

We found the cottage very well equiped. It even included use of a canoe (and means of transportng it) to the 2 lakes and lock that are a short walk from the cottage. We also did some hiking at the conservation area near Westport. On rainy days we visited to Knigston, 45 minute drive away for the museums.

Relaxing Vacation

We rented the Canalman's Cottage from Aug. 24 to Sept. 14. We enjoyed our stay very much despite a few issues which Robin & his people reacted & iced them quickly. The gardens are manny & not cared for so my wife did a fantastic job of weeding, taking away grub & planting. Fishing was not good unfortunately.. Henry

An Enjoyable Three Weeks

We spent 4 night at the charming historical cottage and were thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage was clean and with all the amenities as described and more. My boys went fishing everyday and caught lots of fish while the books and puzzles brought us hours of joy in the sunlit sitting room. Even my dog enjoyed the early morning walks around the cute little town.

A perfect spring getaway

Very peaceful and close for daytrips. We had family members visit during the day and cooked many of our meals outdoors,

Peaceful and close for daytrip

Our stay at the Canalman's Cottage, Newboro Lockstation was very enjoyable. The accommodation was great and everything was in working order. The location of the cottage is very private and quiet so a very relaxing place to stay. The village itself was good for walking and we so enjoyed watching the boats going through the locks. A nice area to visit as there are many places to visit and not that far to drive.
