Be immersed in the rugged beauty of our Northern bushland, from the luxury and comfort of this two story (dressed up) shipping container. Open your eyes in the morning to a breathtaking escarpment of native bush. This makes the perfect space to come home to after exploring Litchfield's waterfalls and attractions. From the upstairs deck you can see both sunset and sunrise, and in the wet season be amazed by the dramatic storms illuminating the sky. Our three cabins are 70m to 100m apart, which means up to three families can rent the cabins with solar path lighting between.
For the extra guest or children we provide a floor mattress and bedding on request.
We have recently added outdoor Bush Tubs to each cabin. A great way to cool off and appreciate a beautiful starry night with your loved ones.
We (the owners) live on-site, about a three minute walk from the cabins. Our door is open, should you have any questions about your accomodation or the local area.

We are located just 8km from Wangi Falls, one of Litchfield's largest and most iconic waterfalls. For most of the year it is open for swimming. There are two cafes and a helicopter tour operator within the same distance. There are also several other smaller water holes nearby. Most water attractions are accessible by car. If you do have a 4WD be sure to go off-road to visit the amazing, less accessible sites.

You'll find in your fridge some bacon, eggs, and a few treats to welcome you to Hideaway. Our cabins are solar powered during the day and (quiet) generator at night. Both rooms in your cabin can be air conditioned. This makes it a wonderful place in our often unbearable build up, unless sitting in one of our newly added outdoor Tubs or nearby rock pools or under a waterfall of course!

Children are welcome! We can make space on the floor, provide mattresses, bedding and a cot. Children 5 and over will be $35 per night extra. We can also accommodate a third adult at $35 per night extra. If there are two extra adults you would need to consider booking out an additional cabin.

Hideaway Litchfield (Wangi-Cabin Two)

My partner and I stayed for two nights and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. It’s a beautiful cabin that is private and well kept. The owners are very lovely as well and were the cherry on top of our experience. We both look forward to visiting again!! Thank you 🤩

Amazing and worth every dollar

We spoilt ourselves and stayed in the Wangi unit for the weekend….well….it didn’t disappoint in the slightest.
On arrival we walked into beautifully cool, clean and well stocked rooms.
Even bacon, eggs and some fresh rye bread.
Annnd even a few sneaky treats too! 🍫
The view from the bedroom window was just awesome….nothing but natural bush, birds and even the odd kangaroo 🦘
One of my most favorite things about the situation of the unit was the fact that I could watch the sunrise from the bed 🌅 🥰
Beautiful, peaceful and perfectly situated accommodation….only a 9 minute drive to Wangi Falls itself.
And the shop that is on the property was also a pleasant surprise….very nice tidy and well stocked and lovely, friendly service.
As a local, I absolutely highly recommend giving this place a look.

Absolutely Perfect

So many things to love about Hideaway Litchfield - it is so well located for visiting Wangi Falls, Florence Falls, Buley Rockhole and the termite mounds, but our favourite was to visit Walker creek each afternoon at about 4:00pm for a cool private swim with no-one around. The cabin was so peaceful and we loved the birds visiting the bird bath each morning and evening, the bbq on the deck and the visiting tree frog. It was a perfect, peaceful place to stay.

Peaceful ideal location

We spent an unforgettable day in Hideaway Wangi . The cabin is furnished and decorated with a lot of love. Everything was simply perfect and we felt really at home, in the middle of teh forest, hearing dozens of different birds singing.

A hidden paradise

Highly recommend booking a stay at Hideaway if you’re heading to Litchfield NP. We had a great stay! The cabin was beautiful and in such a peaceful setting. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Rog and Viv were very happy to accommodate our 3 young children in the cabin with us. The cabin had everything we needed and was beautifully appointed. Thanks for a great stay!
