Be immersed in the rugged beauty of our Northern bushland, from the luxury and comfort of this two story (dressed up) shipping container. Open your eyes in the morning to a breathtaking escarpment of native bush. This makes the perfect space to come home to after exploring Litchfield's waterfalls and attractions. From the upstairs deck you can see both sunset and sunrise, and in the wet season be amazed by the dramatic storms illuminating the sky. Our three cabins are 70m to 100m apart, which means up to three families can rent the cabins with solar path lighting between.
For the extra guest or children we provide a floor mattress and bedding on request.
We have recently added outdoor Bush Tubs to each cabin. A great way to cool off and appreciate a beautiful starry night with your loved ones.
We (the owners) live on-site, about a three minute walk from the cabins. Our door is open, should you have any questions about your accomodation or the local area.
We are located just 8km from Wangi Falls, one of Litchfield's largest and most iconic waterfalls. For most of the year it is open for swimming. There are two cafes and a helicopter tour operator within the same distance. There are also several other smaller water holes nearby. Most water attractions are accessible by car. If you do have a 4WD be sure to go off-road to visit the amazing, less accessible sites.
You'll find in your fridge some bacon, eggs, and a few treats to welcome you to Hideaway. Our cabins are solar powered during the day and (quiet) generator at night. Both rooms in your cabin can be air conditioned. This makes it a wonderful place in our often unbearable build up, unless sitting in one of our newly added outdoor Tubs or nearby rock pools or under a waterfall of course!
Children are welcome! We can make space on the floor, provide mattresses, bedding and a cot. Children 5 and over will be $35 per night extra. We can also accommodate a third adult at $35 per night extra. If there are two extra adults you would need to consider booking out an additional cabin.

Hideaway Litchfield (Tolmer-Cabin Three)

Amazing, beutiful, relaxing. lovely place for a romantic stay for a couple.of nights. Very handy to access all the falls or just stay at hideaway and watch the rain.

Review

Tolmer cabin at Hideaway Litchfield was the perfect retreat after exploring all the nearby gems - 100% recommend! Kin coffee shop on site is also a gem!

We loved waking up to see birds, wallabies and butterflies getting ready for the day.

Thanks Rog and Viv for a wonderful stay!

The perfect retreat!

A peaceful retreat in the heart of Litchfield. It was a short drive to the beautiful waterfalls and swimming spots nearby. Coming back to Tolmer after a day of exploring was heaven! We could easily have spent a week in this gorgeous haven. It is so well equipped with thoughtful provisions. We loved to sit outside and watch the mobs of kangaroos glide by or sit under the starry sky by the fire pit. I can think of no better place to stay - you will love it!

Magic

Lovely, magical and unique accommodation in Litchfield National Park. View from the bedroom windows are fantastic. Plenty of goodies in the fridge and a well equipped kitchen. The wallabies put on a comical show every morning. A perfect retreat for relaxation after a hectic day swimming in waterfalls and rock pools. Over the years we’ve stayed in other parts of the park but this one beats them all.

Bliss

Sometimes when you book a spot the reality does not match up to the photos on the website. While this is also true for Hideaway Litchfield Tolmer cabin, it’s because photos can’t do justice to this wonderful cabin in a remote and beautiful part of the park.

Clean, spacious, quiet and great amenities and the views every morning and afternoon are breathtaking. We were throwing open all the blinds and doors at 6am to watch the sun rise and listen to the forest come alive.

Make sure you come well provisioned as there are no shops in the area, and you will want to have your breakfast and dinner, and maybe even lunch, in this remote oasis.

Thanks you Rog & Viv, exceptional experience!
