Situated by Culkein Bay beach, Seafield is a beautifully restored, traditional Highland Croft House dating from the 1880s. Seafield has stunning views of the sea and mountains, and a beautiful white sandy beach 30 m away. Seafield creates the perfect base for family and friends who enjoy hiking, bird watching, fly-fishing, sea-kayaking, or simply relaxing in peace and tranquillity.
Comfortably accommodating up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms, this delightful cottage is full of character and charm with flagstone flooring, exposed stonework, beamed ceilings and old-school style radiators.
Assynt is a fabulous location for those who enjoy the great outdoors and a quieter pace of life. This beautifully scenic area offers endless walking, botanising, bird-watching, fly-fishing, sea-angling and kayaking opportunities. There are countless hidden coves to discover and large open sandy beaches ideal for all the family. Around every corner is yet another breath taking view – dramatic unspoilt landscape with dramatic coastal cliffs, countless hill lochs and spectacular mountains all dotted with traditional working Crofts. The “Old Man of Stoer” sea stack is within walking distance of Seafield.  There are excellent sea fishing marks for pollack, mackerel and sea bass nearby.
Please note all our booking are Sunday to Sunday, unless agreed in advance.

Seafield cottage next to Culkein Bay

This was our second stay at Seafield and over the New Year. It's perfect for a family with older children and the location next to the beach fantastic for walks, birdwatching etc. There are epic views of the mountains, made more special by January snow. Cottage is warm, comfortable and cosy with a log burner. It's a perfect place for nature lovers, and close to Lochinver that has some great places to eat.

A well equipped cosy cottage in beautiful Assynt

Despite the wind we had another fantastic stay at Seafield Cottage. A cozy place to stay between short walks with the kids, time on the beach, two mountain days, some langoustines, pies from the Lochinver Larger and a gig in Lochinver. What's not to love?

Another great stay at Seafield Cottage

Very impressed by the cottage and its location. Beautiful views from every aspect. Our third visit to the amazing Assynt area and our first to Seafield. The comfort, warmth and thoughtful restoration of this beautiful cottage was a struggle to leave behind, Very much looking forward to a return stay. Please visit the Jammery for fab jams, marmalades and very reasonably priced cakes ‘on your doorstep’. Whether beachcombing, walking, fishing, climbing or simply looking out to the sea and mountains this is the place to be.

All you need for a fabulously relaxing hoilday

Our third visit to Seafield and every bit as pleasant and comfortable as the others. So cosy and well equipped, could not ask for more. Weather was largely excellent and coupled with a couple of Otter sightings and unusually a pod of 6 Bottlenose Dolphins in the bay (normally commons) we had a great week.

Splendid return holiday

We have been coming to Seafield for over 30 years now so it has a very special place in our family memories. This was the first visit for 7 month old 3rd gen and hope she will go on to enjoy many more holidays here. It rained, the wind blew and occasionally the sun appeared but that's part of holidaying in NW Scotland and we can't wait to return. This year we caught the Highland Games in Lochinver and discovered that Delilah's does really good food.

Another great week at Seafield
