<div><br></div><div>Wake up on your own island. The Sitka Lighthouse sits on a one-acre island in Sitka Sound, a five-minute water taxi ride from Crescent Harbor in downtown Sitka. The taxi is included both directions, with a trip to town in between, so getting here is part of the stay rather than a chore at either end.</div><div><br></div><div>The lighthouse was built in 1983 and still carries a working navigational beacon registered with the Coast Guard. The red light on top is the real thing. Inside, four levels rise from the kitchen and living space to a glass-walled room at the top, ringed with windows for a 360-degree view of Sitka and the Eastern Channel. Watch the light move across the water from a chair up top, from the wraparound decks, or from the catwalk that runs out to a circular platform above the waves.</div><div><br></div><div>Mornings start with coffee on the deck and eagles passing overhead. Humpbacks, sea otters, and sea lions work the channel through the season. At low tide the rocks fill with starfish, sea cucumbers, and urchins. When you want to be on the water there are kayaks at the private dock. When you want to stay put there’s a hot tub, a fire pit, and a grill with the channel right in front of you.</div><div><br></div><div>The kitchen is fully equipped. The bedrooms are built for deep sleep after long days outside. Transportation and provisions are arranged before you arrive, so the day you land you can settle in and do nothing if that’s what you came for. Couples, families, and small groups book it for the same reason: a fully private island, minutes from a real town.</div><div><br></div><div>Few places in Alaska are this private and this close to everything. Sitka Lighthouse, Private Luxury in Alaska.

Our week at the Sitka Lighthouse was beautiful! My husband and I came to Sitka for world-class fishing and were not disappointed. Our guide picked us up right at our dock. The Lighthouse was relaxing and peaceful after a day of reeling in those salmon. You have the whole little island to yourself. We especially liked the hot tub. And the views, oh my! Three hundred sixty degrees of natural beauty. The owner, Teal, was great, going above and beyond and attending to our every request. If you want something private and a little different, treat yourself to the Lighthouse. You will delighted with your experience!

Delighted!

There are no words to describe how amazing it is to stay at this place; it is so beautiful, the views are just so unique, and there is total relaxation; you are on your little island with just amazing views all around you and eagles right there in the backyard, otters swimming right in front every day, we even got to see the Northern Lights one night from the lighthouse, it was such a fantastic vacation, teal was so incredible and helpful throughout our stay, she is the best, will go back.

So Awesome!

I just got home last night from 3 days/2 nights at the lighthouse. It's one of my
best weekend getaways to date! The lighthouse is
over-the-top. The house is decorated like something you would see in a
magazine. The amenities are far too many to list. Teal, the owner, has
thought of everything. The weather was gorgeous. We hot tubbed,
barbecued, kayaked, took the boat into town, and watched seals, sea
lions, and Dall porpoises; there was an eagle nest right next to the
lighthouse, which we watched all weekend. It was indeed a fantastic
getaway. In fact, on the way to the airport, I contacted the owner and
booked it for three nights next year.

Re-booked For Next Year!

Experience of a lifetime! The lighthouse was amazing! It was exactly as described/pictured. It was beautiful, clean, with a well-stocked kitchen and pantry. The BBQ, fire pit, porch swing, and hot tub were all fantastic touches that made it a wonderful experience. Teal met us and showed us around when we checked in and was readily available during our entire stay for questions. The water taxi was great and made it super easy to get to the lighthouse with all of our groceries when we arrived and took us back for our flight home. Having the boat to use to go back and forth to town made it super easy to get to town for activities and meals out. It was a short beautiful ride into town on the skiff, we were there long enough to be able to use the water taxi for a trip into town, but the boat was so convenient that we didn’t even use the water taxi for anything other than when we arrived and left. There are steep and narrow staircases, it is a lighthouse, it was totally doable and comfortable, but if you have mobility issues this may not be a great fit. The scenery around the lighthouse is phenomenal; the ocean, bald eagles flying around, sea lions, tide pools, trees, and thoughtfully planted flowers. It was all breathtaking. The perfect place for a relaxing getaway and to unplug. Sitka is a great town with lots of things to do and the people were all so kind and helpful. The lighthouse has kayaks, a hot tub, fire pit, books, movies, games, tide pools, amazing scenery, and a porch swing for coffee drinking...lots of great things to do right there. The lighthouse allows you to be in town easily when you would like to be and be in a quiet paradise when you would like to be. I honestly can’t say enough about it...we had a magical time and highly recommend this special experience.

Experience of a Lifetime!
