The Bucktail Hideaway on Grindstone Lake

I got to stay here with a mixed group a friends and the property is lovely! The two houses connected by the deck and gym were great for privacy and separation but also being connected. I was in the “older” part of the house and loved waking up with a view of the lake. We used nearly all the amenities. We played darts and pool. We did a cold plunge in the lake after hot tubing and tubing. The leaves were a beautiful color making everything so beautiful. We went to town and had fun in all the local shops and met some really cool people. We also walked/ ran on some trails nearby. This place has it all.

Perfect weekend retreat

The cabins are beautiful, there’s plenty of space for families and groups to gather. I loved that there were two separate cabins but they were connected and easy to travel between, makes it perfect for big groups. The amenities were so nice and we used them all. The view to the lake is absolutely stunning. The garage space was perfect for hanging out and playing games. The gym has everything you need! It’s also so close to the main Hayward areas in town, very accessible - but you don’t even have to leave the cabin, as long as you have food and drinks, we could’ve stayed there the entire trip. Even the road driving to and from the cabin had the most beautiful fall views. And plenty of space to park too. I have nothing bad to say about this place, me and my friends had an amazing time and absolutely LOVED the house. I hope to be back!! Thank you!!

Amazing place to stay

A group of girlfriends and I stayed here for a long weekend getaway, and it was exactly what we needed! The cabin was cozy, beautiful, and so much fun to stay in, especially during such a gorgeous fall weekend. There was always something to do, and we had the best time. We would absolutely recommend it!

Such a nice getaway

The Cabin was great! Unfortunately, it rained most of the time we were there, but we still had a great time playing pool and darts. Emma was great too. She always responded quickly.

Amazing Cabin

This property was beautiful, relaxing and perfect for our family getaway! We had three families staying together — 6 adults and 4 children, all age 2 and under — and there was more than enough space for everyone to spread out comfortably while still having plenty of wonderful spaces to gather together.
The house itself was even better than the pictures — and the pictures are beautiful, so that’s saying something! We loved the beautiful old log-cabin decor combined with modern appliances, comfortable furnishings, and spacious areas throughout the home. Everything felt warm, welcoming, and relaxing.
There was truly something for everyone. The game room, pool table, and open-air bar area were a huge hit with the adults. We also had a lot of fun playing ping pong in the front garage, with ample room for the kids to play with their push-and-pull toys. The indoor arcade-style basketball game was another big hit!
We especially enjoyed gathering around the large dining table, hanging out by the grills, and spending time on the long deck taking in the great lake views. The hot tub overlooking the lake was perfect for relaxing, and the sauna and workout room were wonderful extras.
The lakeside lot was just as impressive. The beautiful setting, campfire ring, and gorgeous views made it easy to spend hours outside. We also brought our four-wheelers and had plenty of areas to roam around and explore.
Our favorite part was definitely the lake access! There were plenty of kayaks and paddleboards, and they were easy to use. We had so much fun kayaking and paddleboarding and swimming out to the floating dock. There was also plenty of room for our two recreational boats, which was a huge bonus for our family.
The house was exceptionally well equipped for a large group. They had all the cookware and kitchen supplies we could possibly need, and everything was high quality, just like the grills and other amenities. There were multiple bathrooms, washer/dryers, and ample towels, so with all of us there, we never had to wait or feel crowded. We also really appreciated the thoughtful details throughout the home. Having all of the light switches labeled was such a nice touch, and the clearly labeled towels made it easy to know which towels were meant for each area and where to put everything back.
The host was attentive and responsive throughout our stay. Any questions we had were answered quickly, making everything easy and stress-free.
We honestly couldn't have asked for a better place for our family getaway. It gave all three families plenty of room while also having so many amazing spaces where we could all come together and enjoy time as a family.
We absolutely loved our stay, would highly recommend this property, and would return in a heartbeat!
