Welcome to The Hangar, a unique repurposed cargo container getaway atop Lookout Mountain, Georgia. The Hangar is named after its unique roofline that was built to imitate the hang gliders that occasionally pass by from the nearby flight park. The Hangar features a fully functional kitchen that includes a fridge, induction cooktop, and convection microwave,  a queen bed, a secondary folding queen bed, a full bathroom, and several additional amenities listed below. The Hangar is well suited for 2 guests but can sleep up to 4 guests with the additional folding queen bed in the loft. This mountain retreat is a true place to relax and meditate, therefore there is no television. There are 2 shared fire pits located at each end of the property. Firewood is provided along with ingredients to make s'mores. This rental is not suitable for pets or children under the age of 12, as it is situated on the bluff of the mountain. Minimum age to check-in is 21. There are 3 cargo container tiny homes located On The Rocks. Each rental has 1 assigned parking space. There is no additional room for extra vehicles. On The Rocks does not permit indoor smoking, parties, or events. On The Rocks is located 15 miles from downtown Chattanooga, 1 mile from Lookout Mountain Flight Park, 10 miles from Rock City Gardens, and 10 miles from Cloudland Canyon State Park, and is central to many more attractions. I am available by message and also live in the area if assistance is needed. 
We strongly encourage guests to purchase travel insurance at the time of booking in case you need to cancel outside of our cancellation policy for any reason. The travel insurance covers severe weather and other unexpected trip interruptions. If you choose not to purchase the insurance please be sure you have read and understand the cancellation policy.

The Hangar at On The Rocks Container Mountain Home

I booked this property because it was my son’s 13th birthday and we were looking for something different to do since he’s not into theme parks and water parks have been over done. We were nothing short of amazed once we arrived because the pictures didn’t do it justice. The view is amazing but you could probably get that anywhere on the mountain. It’s the attention to detail at the property that really wowed us. My son loved the loft and deemed it his room the entire trip and my mom loved waking up to have coffee on the patio balcony. The fire pit was a hit with my kid because he loves s’mores and there were supplies to make them right in the kitchen already. The property owner even had fresh basil and oregano in a flower pot next to the our pizza oven to elevate the experience. There wasn’t a need she didn’t anticipate and provide for and that made this birthday getaway the best ever. We can’t wait to visit the property again and I implore you to book and create your own unforgettable experience.

Birthday Get away

Loved this place. Super comfortable cabin with incredible views. Place has everything you would need for a cozy “glamping” experience. Charcoal grill, pizza oven, fire pit, smores, plus all the materials you need for these things. Host is super nice and seems to really care. Checked in on us to make sure we had enough supplies.
