LAKE SWIMMING AND FISHING
St. Mary's Lake is great for swimming and fishing! many people fish from the shore down the road, or launch small boats. It is known for its excellent smallmouth bass and yellow perch catches. Note that gas powered boats are not allowed on all Salt Spring Lakes.
Lake access is a 2 minute drive or a 15 minute walk down the road.
NEARBY ACTIVITIES
Swallow's Perch is within walking distance of Portlock Park which hosts tennis/pickleball courts, basketball hoops, a running track, a playground, baseball field and washrooms. And across the street is the adorable Fritz Theatre which is located in an historic community hall.
Just a short drive will take you to Vesuvius Beach where you can soak up the sun and smell the sea air.
DRIVING SAFETY
Salt Spring has very few street lights and none in our area. Please drive slowly and watch for deer and livestock that sometimes wander onto the roads.
SHOP NEXT DOOR
We run an upholstery shop in the garage of the house, and we have taken steps to minimize the noise that you may hear from there during the day.

Swallow's Perch Guest Suite

The unit is newly renovated with a quiet large yard. The owner is nice and considerate.

Newly renovated

Although I personally wasn't able to stay my guys had great feedback. Apparently there was a cute lovable dog that hung out with the them, who doesn't love a cute friendly dog. Marc

Cute dog!

Tera was a great host - very responsive and friendly! The unit is clean and cozy, and the front porch is a great spot to enjoy a morning coffee. A great place to stay to explore the island!

Morning coffee on the porch

We had a great 3-night stay at Tera’s place, nicely tucked away and super peaceful
