Nestled on the shores of beautiful Greers Ferry Lake and in the heart of Heber Springs, The Modern Magnolia is intended to be a retreat welcoming of all people and designed to feel relaxed and comfortable; a refuge from the daily grind.
Here there are no obligations, expectations, or judgement. Remember what it feels like to read a book. Take that morning nap and throw in a second in the afternoon for good measure. Grab a kayak and take a short walk through the woods for a sunset expedition. Come back and grill out ... Then lose count of how many S'mores you've eaten by the campfire.
More than anything, be present. Listen to the sounds of the lake and the birds that greet you in the morning. And mostly, remember that right now you're exactly where you're meant to be.
The space
The Modern Magnolia is a 1972 mid-century modern home with great bones. Over the course of many weekends and trips back and forth from Austin, Texas, our family transformed this old soul into a newly re-imagined version of its former self.
With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, The Modern Magnolia invites you to relax and unwind in its welcoming atmosphere. With tasteful touches that remind us of our favorite things, we've mixed in elements from our own life to create what we hope will feel like a welcoming oasis.
As a family that loves to travel, we tried our best to outfit The Modern Magnolia with all the amenities we love to have while we're away from home. With modern kitchen appliances, coffee at the ready, and no lack of the little things, we expect you won't need to buy that 5lb bag of sugar you'll only use a teaspoon of. Step outside for coffee or wine on the screened in porch or elevated back deck with scenic views of the surrounding woods and Greers Ferry Lake. A feature we love most is the winding path you can take from the backyard that leads to easy lake access and the perfect spot to drop in one of our kayaks. If you time it just right you can make it back in time for storytelling around the fire pit or easy conversation with friends and family. The Modern Magnolia can accommodate a maximum of 6 guests, with covered parking for two vehicles and a vast driveway that can easily accommodate a trailer with a boat. This is a home where communities of all kinds are welcome, but as much as we love our animals, we ask you to leave yours at home.
Guest access
The house is easily accessible with plenty of parking for all who visit. With front and back access via keypad, we'll make sure you receive access information ahead of your stay.

Welcome to The Modern Magnolia

Wonderful place! Fully stocked. Great location, easy access to whatever you need. Would definitely stay again and hopefully for longer next time!

Weekend getaway!

Beautiful home that is stocked full of anything you need in your home away from home! Starting from the fresh flowers to a snack box to a very well stocked coffee area! The kitchen is stocked with anything you will ever need. The beds were the most comfortable nights rest along with great showers in the bathrooms. We enjoyed lots of down time lounging. We did venture out to Mack’s Fish House and Zeke and Lizzys restaurant, both were very tasty. Grabbed some coffee at Stream Coffee Co, great drinks! Then picked up groceries at Harps. All within a mile or two of the home. I would definitely book here again. Perfect from start to finish!

Perfect weekend getaway in a beautiful home!

This was one of the best Airbnb's I've ever stayed in! The house is gorgeous and spacious with a nice patio out back. The house had a very modern feel with amazing decor. We felt right at home with our family and had everything we needed. The hosts were very friendly and quick to respond or even reach out to check if anything was needed before I asked. Would love to stay here again!!

Spacious, Stylish, and Perfect for Families

It was an amazing place and perfect for our college roommate reunion!  We would definitely stay again.

Girls Weekend was Amazing!

Beautiful and colorful decor, 4 large, comfortable beds with soft pillows, well stocked kitchen with more than we’ve ever found at an air b& b. Coffee, sugar, creamer, eggs, delicious cookies filled the guest cookie jar, and lovely, fresh flowers welcomed us as we entered the kitchen. A basket held all the snacks you could desire! This is an extremely clean and cozy home away from home. From the spacious screened in back porch, we enjoyed coffee each morning while watching birds and squirrels scampering about. At night we enjoyed a cheerfully lit deck overlooking a quiet yard, planters, and tall trees. Paths to the lake through the woods were tricky. We were disappointed to find the lake low making it extremely difficult to walk over all the loose rocks and mud. We just couldn’t use the kayaks. I’m sure other seasons provide higher water levels.Everything else was perfect!  Location is very convenient to lake activities and restaurants, especially Angie’s Hide Away. We will be back.

Everything was Perfect!
