The Three Doves is our family home and smallholding, in a quiet spot on the banks of the River Severn, just outside the village of Awre. Two former cowsheds have been converted into comfortable places to stay; this one sleeps two, with an enormous super-king bed.

Outside are old apple orchards, Burford Brown chickens and our kitchen garden, where we grow produce for Post, our restaurant in nearby Newnham-on-Severn. From the door, paths lead across the fields and along the Severn, with the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley close by.

Couples' Cowshed (Sleeps 2)

The Cowshed is the loveliest place to stay. We were made to feel right at home from the second we arrived by Florence and the whole family. They were welcoming and so friendly and we had the most wonderful month on the farm. Comfy bed, well equipped kitchen and perfect hosts. You’ll feel like you’ve found English countryside’s best kept secret here. The cowshed is South facing so you get sunshine streaming in all day long, with beautiful sunsets over the fields. The views to the river are constantly changing and we loved taking a walk to the river every day. It’s a super peaceful place, a little slice of heaven on earth, surrounded by birds and lambs and so lovely to be there as the apple blossom appeared. The Post serves ridiculously good food, and is very accommodating of food requirements too.Everything was so thoughtful and done with care, we felt looked after but given privacy and just had the loveliest time. We were so sad to leave and we can’t wait to get to return some day 💛
