Calle Fuencarral is its commercial spine: independent fashion shops, hairdressers with their own style, specialist bookshops and cafés where people work from a laptop without anyone minding. Mercado de San Antón, renovated and turned into a food space, is the heart of the neighbourhood and the best place for an aperitivo or the daily shop.

At night, Chueca is magic. There is something for everyone: quiet terraces for a glass of wine with a good view, cocktail bars where the bartender is almost an artist, and clubs for anyone who wants to stretch the night until the metro opens again.
