Merrion cottage, Penmachno

Very Peaceful location, stunning landscape, fresh air with very lovely and helpful locals. great for hiking and the host was very responsive and kind. The cottage was very clean, cozy and charming, We loved our stay and would come back 100 percent!

Very Peaceful location, stunning landscape

Our stay in the cottage was good. Although the cottage is quite old, it is equipped with everything you might need. I would suggest installing some more atmospheric ceiling lighting instead of the cold LED lights currently in place; the latter really detracts from the cottage's charm. We were allowed to check in early due to the bad weather, which was very thoughtful. There is a supermarket right across the way (10m away) that is open daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM—super convenient! Also, a nice welcome package containing some treats, bread, butter, and jam was a lovely touch upon arrival.

Ideal location for a break. Charming quiet village.

Pro:The location, connection to the pub, nicely decorated
Con: The way the lighting was wired meant that in the kitchen, when it got darker outside, there was either too much or too little light for us. Separately switchable lighting above the hob could be a solution.

Super

My stay at Merrion Cottage with my dog was lovely. The cottage is as described and in a beautiful village, only a short drive from Betws y Coed. There is a small shop just over the road from the cottage, a pub behind and parking available in the church carpark. The cottage is cosy, clean and within easy distance of many of the Snowdonia attractions.
